This study analysed the papers published in SCIE web database during the period of recent ten years of five universities: Shanghai Fisheries University,Jimei University,Guangdong Ocean University,Zhejiang Marine University,and Dalian Fisheries University.The characteristics of the papers among five universities were compared in various aspects,such as paper amount,author affiliation,cited number,subjects and published journal.The results showed that the papers embodied by SCIE of five universities have increased year by year,especially since 2000.From the subjects of papers,the dominant academic disciplines of Jime University were changed from the fisheries to basic disciplines such as math,physics and chemistry etc,and the dominant academic disciplines of Shanghai Fisheries University,Guangdong Ocean University and Dalian Fisheries University were ocean and freshwater biology,fisheries subjects,but that of Zhejiang Ocean University was computer science.As for the influence of papers,Shanghai Fisheries University and Jimei University kept being in the first rank.
